Become a trustee and lead a local Charity
All charities have one thing in common. Small charities, large charities, local or national, children or animals. They are all led by volunteers just like you. People passionate about local causes and ready to use this passion for a purpose.
Right now, Charities across Stirling are looking for trustees.
By joining a Board as a trustee, you are at the heart of the decision making process and can make a real difference. It’s a responsible role as you will be safeguarding the charity for future generations, but you will have support and training to take on your trustee role.
In return you will gain skills and experience in leading an organisation. You will learn skills in finance, fundraising, and administration that could help you in your personal or professional life. All of this at the same time as knowing that you are making a big difference to the people or communities you care about. Without great charity trustees, Stirling’s charities would simply not exist.
For corporate [More and more employers are supporting their employees to volunteer are trustees within work time. Ask your employer if they would consider this? Its great for their corporate social responsibility and you will get training and experience that helps both you and your employer]
The number one requirement for charities is that you are passionate about the cause and want to make a difference. Charities would be extra keen to hear from people who combine this passion with skills in finance, human resources or marketing.
Age is no barrier! We would particularly encourage younger people to consider a trustee position, as they are currently underrepresented.
The types of organisations requiring trustees are varied, and we can help you get in touch with charities that you care about.
Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise would support you in your journey, including Trustee Roles and Responsibilities training.
