CTSI and SVE open Members’ Consultation for a Recommended Merger

Clackmannanshire TSI (CTSI) and Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) as the Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) in their respective local authority areas already work closely together. Since January 2026, the boards and senior management teams have carried out an exploration period and an options appraisal on how best to work more closely together in the future. Following the completion of that work, the boards of both charities have now agreed to recommend to their member organisations a full merger.

Together the organisations will now enter a consultation period on what members want to see emerge from this exciting opportunity for change. Members will be called on to help shape the future of an enlarged TSI which will represent the third sector and communities across the two local authority areas.

Both organisations want to explore with the members the benefits of a larger and more resilient organisation which would aim to:

• Strengthen services and support for members and communities.
• Build additional capacity and shared expertise for members.
• Strengthen the collective voice of the third sector across Clackmannanshire and Stirling and through Forth Valley frameworks.
• Respond more effectively to support membership collaboration within a changing public sector and funding landscape.
• Improve organisational resilience and reduce pressure on small staff teams by designing a TSI for the future.

The TSIs will move into a member and community consultation period during the autumn, and we will be seeking feedback on future needs, opportunities and a future operating model. This will be done at face-to-face members’ meetings and also through an online survey. More information on how to get involved will be shared in the next few weeks.  

Partners and funders will also play a key role in this period and their thoughts on what the future looks like for one TSI will be useful for members to hear.

The charities will aim to conclude the process in early 2027 where the members will be invited to vote on the proposals.
