Support Your Community

Support Your Community

We want Stirling to be the best it can be. We know this can only happen when people and communities are supported to flourish, have a say in the things that matter to them, and are empowered to shape the support and services they need to thrive.

Communities can mean different things to different people. A community may be based on where people live, shared interests, experiences, identities or a common goal. At SVE, we believe communities are built on the connections, knowledge and strengths of the people within them.

Stronger Communities Through Involvement

There are many ways to support your community, whether that is volunteering your time, joining a local group, sharing your ideas, supporting community projects or getting involved in decisions that affect you and those around you.

In this section, you can find out more about:

  • Ways to get involved and have your voice heard.
  • Opportunities to connect with local groups and organisations.
  • How communities can influence local decision-making.
  • Support available to help community groups develop and thrive.

Having a Voice in Local Decisions

SVE works with partners including the Stirling Community Planning Partnership and the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership to support meaningful community involvement and ensure local voices are reflected in planning and decision-making.

If you are an individual, you can get involved through opportunities such as your local Community Council, consultations, community events or forums such as the NHS Forth Valley Patient Forum.

If you are involved with a third sector organisation as a staff member, trustee or volunteer, our Third Sector Forums provide opportunities to connect with other organisations, share learning and contribute to discussions that influence local priorities.

Get Involved

Whether you are looking to make a difference as an individual, strengthen your community group or connect with other organisations, SVE can help you find opportunities to get involved and make your voice heard.
