Second Community Group has a lucky £250 winner on the Stirling Community Lottery
Stirling Community Lottery is delighted to announce another £250 prize winner – a dedicated supporter of Plean's Voice, a community organisation committed to making a positive impact in the local area.
The Stirling Community Lottery, established by Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) in 2021, allows local good causes a completely digital way of raising funds. With every ticket purchased, participants not only stand a chance of winning cash prizes but also play a vital role in supporting local causes that matter.
The most recent £250 winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is an ex-resident of Plean, and heard about Plean’s Voice efforts to improve the local community. The winner said,
“Local Communities really need as much help as possible raising funding right now and this organisation is really focused on involving people from Plean, it just seemed like a great cause.”
Our £250 winner said they were ‘really surprised’ to win the money, and continued. “I never win prizes so when the email came through saying I’d won I was over the moon! There are lots of prizes to be won and it’s a great way to fund local projects.”
Plean's Voice is a volunteer-led charity aimed at making Plean a better place to live, work and visit. It is a relatively new organisation having only started in January this year, and despite only joining the Stirling Community Lottery in August, they have already achieved 98% of their fundraising target.
Chair of Plean’s Voice Robert McWilliam says he was encouraged to join the Lottery by another local Community group, Fallin Communtiy Voice, who have also had great success in reaching their fundraising targets.
Robert says “Stirling Voluntary Enterprise has been a huge help in setting up Plean’s Voice and supporting us during these first few months since we became a charity. The Community Lottery has been a fantastic way for people with connections to Plean to support what we are trying to do and being a part of the “Plean Revival”. We have been fortunate in being able to work with the Macrobert Art Centre and Stirling Council to establish our very own Cinema - Macrobert Moviehouse, Plean - and when we take over the management role we will need a reasonably predictable income stream. Stirling Community Lottery promises to provide that"
