Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise Encourages a "Leap into Volunteering" this Leap Year
This leap year, Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) is challenging you to ‘Leap into Volunteering,’ a campaign which encourages individuals to use the additional day to create a positive impact on the lives of others by volunteering.
Volunteering creates the perfect opportunity to learn new skills, meet people and improve your own health and wellbeing, at the same time as supporting a cause that matters to you.
SVE are also encouraging local businesses and organisations to allow staff a day off work to take part in volunteering activities within the local community. The leap year provides an extra day, and what better way to make the most of this additional time than by giving something back? By providing their employees with a day off, either on February 29th or another day during the year, businesses can actively participate in community projects.
‘Leap into Volunteering’ invites community members and businesses to recognise the value of social responsibility and to support and encourage individuals to allow them to contribute to local good causes, non-profits, and community projects.
Whether you are completely new to volunteering, or have dabbled before, Leap into Volunteering is for you! You can find over 100 local opportunities on Stirling’s Volunteer Portal here, and start your own ‘Leap into Volunteering’ today!
Central to this campaign is a firm belief in the impact of volunteering. When individuals actively participate in meaningful volunteer activities, the ripple effect extends, creating stronger and more connected communities.
