Comfortable No – Ethical Assertiveness in Trauma-Responsive Practice

“Comfortable No – Ethical Assertiveness in Trauma-Responsive Practice” is a focused, 2-hour interactive session designed for professionals working with survivors of trauma or abuse. It will take place online on Thursday 21st August 2025 and offers practical, trauma-informed tools to support ethical boundary-setting and assertive communication - areas that are so often overlooked in emotionally intensive frontline work.
The session is particularly relevant for therapists, support workers, case managers, and anyone navigating complex interpersonal dynamics in trauma-informed settings. We’ll explore common challenges such as guilt, emotional fatigue, and the cost of blurred boundaries, using real-life examples and practical language scripts participants can apply straight away.
Participants will receive:
- Two hours of live, reflective and practical training
- A printable toolkit with communication strategies
- Guided activities to help integrate learning
- A short Q&A session to share challenges and insights
Any income from ticket sales will go directly towards supporting free healing therapies for women in Forth Valley, delivered by HSTAR Scotland SCIO.
