Background
The fund comprises of money from the Stirling Community Justice Partnership (SCJP) budget and Pandemic Recovery Funds from the Scottish Government.
The Scottish Government provide local CJPs with a budget for spend on partnerships and collaborative work which supports the community justice agenda.
The Pandemic Recovery money is distributed via Justice Social Work for spend within the third sector. This funding is not a continuous or ongoing source of funding. Once the allocated funds are used, there won't be any additional funding provided from the same source.
The SCJP fund is being delivered through the Stirling CJP, in partnership with Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE), the local Third Sector Interface (TSI) who are administrating the fund on behalf of the partnership.
The shortlisting panel comprises of a range of community planning partners from the SCJP, officers within Stirling Council and SVE.
Fund Outcomes
The intended outcome of the fund is to support third sector organisations who are working with people impacted by the criminal justice system or projects which increase community understanding of community justice.
Who can apply?
Funded organisations do not need to have community justice or criminal justice as their sole focus but their application does have to clearly outline how the project or organisation supports people/communities impacted by the justice system.
This fund is for third sector organisations in the Stirling Council area. We therefore will undertake due diligence to check that all applicants:
a) Are third sector (voluntary) organisations - Third Sector organisations include community groups, voluntary organisations, charities or social enterprises or any other not-for-profit groups; these groups will be expected to provide evidence of a governing document.
b) Are delivering services within Stirling Council area.
The fund is available to support both projects that are already in progress and new projects. If you have received funding from previous pandemic recovery funds, you are eligible to apply for this fund again. However, please note that this funding cannot be used for projects that have already been fully funded by other sources.
Fund Award Levels
The fund offers different award levels based on the size of the grant:
Small Grant: You can receive up to £3,000 for your project.
Large Grant: You can receive up to £12,000 for your project.
If you are successful in your application the partnership will confirm the amount and allocate the funds to you as soon as possible after we have received the signed Terms and Conditions.
It's important to note that the allocated grant must be spent by the 31st March 2024.
Monitoring and Evaluation
If you are successful in your application you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on how the grant money has been used and the impact it has had. The SCJP is interested in both qualitative (descriptive) and quantitative (numerical) data.
Specifically, we are looking for projects that work directly with individuals who have experience with the criminal justice system and/or their families.
• Work directly with those on the periphery of the criminal justice system
• Work directly with victims
• Work directly with witnesses
• initiatives that aim to increase community understanding of the community justice agenda.
In addition, projects will need to collect and provide equalities monitoring data. This means recording information related to equality and diversity to ensure fairness and inclusivity in the project's implementation and impact.
