SVE Welcomes new Chair, Maggie Gorman
We recently welcomed Maggie Gorman as our new Chair at our AGM and conference: Creativity, Collaboration and Change, on 25th September 2025.
Maggie Gorman is Director of Business Support and Development at Ceteris Scotland Ltd. Prior to this she worked in economic development at Stirling Council, and at STEP, as well has having worked in management consultancy, retail and property investment.
Tributes were also paid to retiring Chair, Emma MacGregor, and to longstanding trustees Rachel Keenan and David Wilson, who’s terms of office all came to an end at the AGM.
Welcoming Maggie, Natalie Masterson, CEO of SVE said:
“We are delighted that Maggie is joining us as Chair following a rigorous recruitment exercise led by our existing trustees. Maggie brings a wealth of experience to the role, as well as an unrivalled knowledge of the local third sector in Stirling and our public sector partners.
“I would also like to pay tribute to our retiring chair Emma, and trustees David and Rachel, all of whom have generously given their time to SVE over many years. Trustees are volunteers but fulfil a vital role in our organisational governance, and all three have contributed enormously.
“We are pleased to welcome two new Trustees: Kirstie Blair, and Lesley Gallagher. We are fortunate to have received interest in joining our board and supporting our ongoing strategic governance.
“The third sector in Stirling faces unprecedented challenges, with rising costs and shrinking funding opportunities. This new appointment puts us in a strong position to enable Stirling’s third sector to weather those challenges and to thrive.”
Speaking at the AGM and conference, Maggie Gorman said:
“It is a privilege to have been appointed Chair of Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise. At its heart, SVE is about people – people coming together with passion, creativity, and a commitment to making Stirling a place where communities thrive.
“We know the challenges facing our communities are complex. That’s why partnership is at the core of our future. SVE will continue to act as a connector – linking people, ideas, and resources across the public, private, and voluntary sectors. By continuing to work together, we can deliver more than any one organisation could achieve alone.”
