Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) is the development and partnership agency for the third sector in Stirling. Our mission is to strengthen the third sector voice and capacity in Stirling to deliver progressive community- led change, by brokering partnerships and connecting people, ideas and resources.

SVE is a membership organisation. Membership is open to any third sector organisation including social enterprises, community groups and voluntary organisations which operate, wholly or partly, in the Stirling Council area.

SVE membership benefits include:

Free access to all of our services and resources
The right to vote at General Meetings
Access to our training courses
Ability to sign up to join Stirling Community Lottery

Membership Categories

Incorporated Organisations (e.g. SCIO, Company, BenCom, CIC)

Any incorporated third sector organisation operating within the Stirling local authority area, which supports the aims of the company and meets the standards set by the SVE Board. To be eligible, incorporated organisations must:

Consist of three or more individuals on the governing body, or working towards this.
Have a governing document
If they hold a bank account (either in the name of the organisation or managed by another incorporated charity)

Unincorporated Organisations

Any individual nominated on behalf of an unincorporated third sector organisation operating within the Stirling local authority area, which supports the aims of the company and meets the standards set out by the SVE Board. To be eligible, unincorporated bodies must:

Consist of three or more individuals, or working towards this.
Have a governing document
If they hold a bank account (either in the name of the organisation or managed by another incorporated charity)

Individuals

Any person aged 16 and over who resides, works or volunteers within the Stirling local authority area (as determined by the Board of Directors), and who supports the aims of the company and meets the standards set out by the SVE Board, may apply for individual membership. Please note:

Individual membership does not carry voting rights at General Meetings.
Individual members do not have a say in the governance or operational decisions of the organisation.
However, individual membership is sufficient for eligibility to be elected or invited onto the Board of Directors.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is for organisations / groups which may not qualify for full Group Membership (for example, because they are outwith our area, or not in the voluntary sector) but which share our aims and objectives and would like to establish a formal connection with us.
