Merger Information

From the end September the members of CTSI and SVE will be engaging in a consultation period on the recommended merger of the two charities. Below you will find all the information on the work so far and how to get involved.

Why is a merger a good idea?

CTSI and SVE have agreed to recommend a merger to the membership. Please note no final decision has been made. Progress will be subject to consultation, due diligence, legal compliance, funding, and final member approval.  However, both boards believe that the outcome of the merger will bring a range of benefits: 

• Strengthen services and support for members and communities. ·  

• Build additional capacity and shared expertise for members. ·  

• Strengthen the collective voice of the third sector across Clackmannanshire and Stirling and through Forth Valley and national strategic frameworks.  

• Respond more effectively to support membership collaboration within a changing landscape of public service reform.

Latest Update

CTSI and SVE have appointed Allan Rennie as Independent Chair of the Merger Steering Group, which has been formed to help take forward the proposed merger of the two organisations.

Allan brings extensive experience in leadership, communication and partnership working, including through his current roles as Chair of the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Integration Joint Board and Non-Executive Director of NHS Forth Valley. As Independent Chair, he will provide objective challenge, informed advice and an impartial perspective as the merger process progresses.

The appointment comes as our members’ consultation continues, with members across Clackmannanshire and Stirling being invited to share their views on the proposals ahead of the next stage of the process.

We shared the announcement on the 27^th August that we would be entering into a Members’ Consultation phase on the recommendation to merge CTSI and SVE.
